The Icebox, an Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel supplier has been reaching out to some of the world’s neediest children. Through its philanthropic division, Common Threads, the company has recently provided clothing, backpacks, games, and school supplies to orphans in Zambia and China.
The Icebox recently sent several large boxes of clothing, games and supplies to the Ebenezer Child Care Trust (ECCT) www.ebenezerchildcare.org , which houses street children in Livingstone, Zambia. The ECCT, whose mission is to provide a loving home environment for orphaned children, distributed the items directly to the children living at the ECCT home in Zambia, where they were accepted with much enthusiasm and gratitude.

The news spread quickly about the Italian computer analyst Slavisa Pesci who discovered new images on Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper”. Soon the web was filled with requests of people to see the end result of Pesci’s research, the treated image showing its secret.
Thomas Thü Hürlimann from www.ecliptic.ch illustrations and graphic design wanted to see it for himself and developed a procedure to repeat this discovery, just on the computer. Now the interesting thing is that everybody can repeat this procedure, it just needs an image of the painting - usually found easily on the web - and an image manipulation program like Gimp.

The most recent graduating class of Hallmark Institute of Photography’s Professional Photography program raised over $13,000 during a two-week Benefit Exhibition and Print Sale. One hundred percent of the entire proceeds from the print sale are being donated to aid the international humanitarian medical organization, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins san Frontieres.
The exhibit and sale, held June 21 through July 1, 2007, is a result of collaboration between contributing students from Hallmark Institute of Photography’s Class of 2007 and the Hallmark Museum of Contemporary Photography.
