Newly launched TeeJuice.com (www.TeeJuice.com) is your portal to an exciting
world of competition, inspiration, and exhibition of artwork with an innovative new product. Artists, students (and everyone!) can enter artwork on this artist contest website with weekly prizes ranging from $100 to $1,000 cash every quarter!
Ever since Tee Juice markers arrived on the arts and crafts scene, regular fabric markers just don’t seem to make the grade any more. These amazing new markers are an innovative improvement on the fabric markers that are currently available. What makes them so unique is not only do they come in two different sizes so you can be confident that there will be a solid color consistency between the broad areas designed with the large size markers, and the detailed areas that can be designed with the smaller size marker. Color consistency isn’t the only benefit though since, unlike other small fabric markers generally used for detail work, TeeJuice markers are permanent and washable once the dye is fixed in a quick few seconds with an iron.

Aca
demy of Art University students from the digital arts school took home awards from the Space-Time Student Competition & Exhibition at SIGGRAPH 2007. Kyle Yugawa won first place for his project Verve and Molly Quan won one of the four Honorable Mentions for her project Hidden Symbols in Chinese Life and Thought both in the interactive category. This is the fourth year in a row that an Academy of Art University Graduate New Media student has taken the first place title at the Space-Time Competition.
Verve, Yugawa’s MFA thesis, is a web tool that lets artists and musicians compose, orchestrate, and illustrate using sound, shape, and motion. According to the Verve website, the project “strives to mold techniques of painting/illustration, music, and kinetic performance into a single fluid process.” It developed from his frustration as a new media designer to have to learn so many different applications and processes.

Photoshop artists with a flair for the satirical can now win awards for their humorous photo edits, or “chopz,” thanks to a newly-launched series of weekly and monthly themed desi
gn contests from the Photoshop community, PhotoChopz.com. The new contests aim to reward already active members and designers for their spoof, sarcastic, and humorous alterations to chosen monthly photos or themes where designers can choose their own photos.
“We already have over 18,000 threads with over 340,000 posts to date, and the forum only launched in May 2006,” says Josh Bond, owner of PhotoChopz.com. “Many of our founding members had a passion for funny spoof-style designs of user-submitted photos and pictures they found around the net. Now they can earn money for doing just that with our new contests. We have plenty of chopz already, but the contests are a way for us to give back to designers who are here doing what they love and sharing their skills.”

URBANTINE PROJECT
In our rapidly changing world the workspace has to evolve, mutate, be fluid - does there need to be a Fast Architecture to respond to this condition?
Project Aim
The Urbantine Project emerged from the realization that there are limited opportunities for unrecognized architects and designers to showcase their ideas and philosophy in the UK. The Urbantine Project at Tent London provides an opportunity to readdress this issue, affording the winning entry the opportunity to put their design in front of thousands of the most influential designers, companies and design-savvy consumers during London Design Week at Tent London, Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. The winning entry will also have the opportunity to engage with an organisation, Workspace Group, which aims to provide progressive, appropriate, affordable and considered workspace accommodation for London’s creative industries.
