How Everyone Can Discover the Secrets in “The Last Supper” for Himself
Megan
The news spread quickly about the Italian computer analyst Slavisa Pesci who discovered new images on Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper”. Soon the web was filled with requests of people to see the end result of Pesci’s research, the treated image showing its secret.
Thomas Thü Hürlimann from www.ecliptic.ch illustrations and graphic design wanted to see it for himself and developed a procedure to repeat this discovery, just on the computer. Now the interesting thing is that everybody can repeat this procedure, it just needs an image of the painting - usually found easily on the web - and an image manipulation program like Gimp.
If the image was opened in the image manipulation program, a copy of the painting must be put on a second Layer. It has to be mirrored/reversed horizontally, then it must be made 50% transparent. Now one of the layers must be moved so the two Jesus match to become one again. Now Maria Magdalena can be seen on the left side of Jesus with what seems to be a Baby in her arms. If someone does not like to follow the whole procedure but just wants to see the image, the important part of the end result can be seen on our homepage www.ecliptic.ch
