Mysteries of the Eject Key

eject-key1.gifIf your keyboard doesn’t have a dedicated key for ejecting optical discs, here are some tricks for ejecting them:

Press and hold down the F12 key.

In Mac OS X 10.4 and higher, press Command-E (for “eject”).

Control-click or right-click the disc icon and choose “Eject” from the contextual menu that appears.

Add the Eject menu to your menu bar by double-clicking Eject.menu, located in /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras.
